Elder Bruce Allen Johnson

With profound sorrow and grateful hearts, we announce the homegoing of Elder Bruce Johnson, the beloved founder and visionary leader of Love Unlimited Ministries in Norfolk, Virginia. On May 1, 2025, Elder Johnson peacefully transitioned into eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, transformation, and unwavering faith in God.
Elder Johnson's life was a living testimony to the boundless love and redemptive power of Jesus Christ. More than a preacher, he embodied the very message he proclaimed. His journey-from brokenness to healing, from struggle to spiritual strength-was one of grace and God's endless mercy, and he shared it openly and unashamedly. Through his testimony, countless lives were touched, inspired, and forever changed. To the lost, he offered direction; to the broken, healing; to the hopeless, restoration. His favorite reminder, "If God can do it for me, He can do it for you," was not just a phrase-it was a promise backed by the power of his own transformed life.
As the founder of Love Unlimited Ministries Inc., Elder Johnson dedicated his life to serving the needs of the community with humility, vision, and relentless love. He preached with conviction, led with compassion, and poured his heart into building a ministry that welcomed all people-meeting them where they were and pointing them toward Christ. Whether through the Word, acts of service, outreach, or quiet moments of counsel, he demonstrated God's love in both word and deed.
Elder Johnson was also a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He leaves behind his loving and faithful wife of many years, Gloria Johnson, who stood beside him in life, love, and ministry. He is survived by his beloved children: Bruce Johnson Jr. (Trina), Kenny Johnson, Lisa Douglas (Rodney), and Justin Johnson.
He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Judith "Teenie" Charity, Elder Dresden Gage, Mary Ann Brooks, Anthony Gage, and Elder Jackie Lopez; along with 10 cherished grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, spiritual sons and daughters, and countless others who were impacted by his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering faith.
The family welcomes all who were touched by his ministry to come and honor the life of this extraordinary man of God.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Presbyterian Church FBO Love Unlimited Ministries Inc. to continue the vital work Elder Johnson so faithfully began.
