Bruce Koster Obituary
Bruce Neil Koster, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, after a short, courageous battle with an aggressive cancer. He is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born in Grand Haven, Michigan, on September 26, 1950, to John G. and Betty Koster.
Bruce graduated from Spring Lake High School and then took on a lifelong vocation as a builder and contractor in the construction field. He was a partner of Koster Steigenga Construction for over 20 years. Bruce was an avid hunter, fisherman and lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed countless trips to his hunting cabin in the Upper Peninsula. He also enjoyed working in his garden and the peace of living in the woods. He equally loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a member of Harvest Bible Chapel, Spring Lake.
Bruce is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Lynn Koster; son, Joe (Jennifer) Koster, and grandchildren, A.J. and Camden of West Olive; and daughter, Cori (Mark) VanEpps, and grandchildren, Madison and Riley of Spring Lake. He is also survived by a sister, Kay Brown of North Muskegon; sister in-law, Joni Koster of Spring Lake; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Koster; and brothers, Jack Koster and Bob Koster.

Condolences to his family from a childhood friend who grew up with him in Spring Lake.
Have great memories of ice fishing in his shanty, right outside his house on Lloyd´s Bayou and the interest we both shared in raising pigeons. He had an amazing pigeon coop on the small island adjacent to his childhood home that I was always envious of.
To this day, whenever I return to the area, I drive by. Even though the childhood home has been modified, and the pigeon coop replaced by an actual home, I remember the great memories made there that will never be forgotten.
I´m saddened to hear of his passing and wishing God´s peace to those who he left behind.
