Bruce Edward Mattingly, 74, of Tilden, IL; born on June 26, 1951 in St. Louis, MO to the late Joseph Edward and Amelia Mae (née, Kiefer) Mattingly; passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Memorial East Hospital in Shiloh, IL.

Bruce worked as an oil field pumper, coal miner and a manufacturer for TG Missouri. He enjoyed the simple things in life, like sitting on his deck every morning with a cup of coffee while watching the sun come up. Bruce enjoyed early mornings on the porch with his wife, Diana, and his dog, Wags.

He is survived by his loving wife – Diana (née, Dunlap) Mattingly of Tilden, IL to whom he married on October 31, 1970 in Sparta, IL; two sons – Michael (wife, Kim) Mattingly of Smithton, IL and Thomas (wife, Jennifer) Mattingly of Pomona, IL; two granddaughters – Elizabeth Clare Mattingly and Rebecca Lynn Mattingly; one brother – Keith (wife, Donna) Mattingly of Tilden, IL; two sisters – Nancy Englehardt of Arnold, MO and Judy (husband, Joe) Renner of Pensacola, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Visitation will be held at Tilden First Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Memorial services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Hahn officiating. Interment will be held at Tilden Cemetery.

Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Tilden, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
