Bruce Miller McClintock died Friday, May 24, 2024, at the age of 82, surrounded by his wife and kids.
Bruce was the epitome of a family man. He was married to his wife, Suzanne (Sue), for over 56 years. Together, they raised a close, loving family that celebrates joys and shoulders challenges together. He was an especially proud Dad of his 8 kids: Dave (Sarah) McClintock, Marta (Pat) McClintock-Comeaux, Kristin (Shane) LeBeau, Katie (Brian) Heitman, Todd McClintock, Lauren (Bobby) MacWhinnie, Karen (Jamie) Surber, and Matt (Maura) McClintock. We are sure it was a glorious reunion in heaven when greeted with a hug from his son Todd, who passed from Leukemia in 2007, as well as, his parents Russ and Dorothy McClintock. Papa/Poppop adored his 21 grandchildren: Marly & Ridge McClintock; Carter, Tyler, Trevor & Kate McClintock-Comeaux; Braden, Hadley & Maren LeBeau; Nicholas, Drew, Aubrey, & Russell Heitman; Addison, Caroline & Emma MacWhinnie; Calvin, Maybel & Sydney Surber; Scarlett & Silas McClintock.
Bruce moved to Upper St Clair at age nine along with his parents, his brother Reed and sister Nancy. He attended Fort Couch School from 5th-9th grade. Since Upper St. Clair did not yet have a high school he attended Mt. Lebanon. He was point guard and captain of the basketball team and graduated in 1959.
Bruce attended Lehigh University and earned a degree in Accounting in 1963. He launched a successful career with Ernst & Ernst and earned his CPA. He later founded the firm that became McClintock & Associates. Bruce's grit, hard work, integrity and relationship-building grew the firm to over 30 employees, serving institutions of higher education nationwide. Bruce created the "Family First" culture and led by example, often coaching sports and rarely missing a game, dance recital, performance or school function for his kids and grandchildren. He encouraged his employees to do the same. His success inspired his sons to join McClintock & Associates and work alongside him.
Strong in his faith, Bruce attended and generously served Westminster Presbyterian Church throughout his life as Church Treasurer, on Pastor Nominating Committee and several terms as Elder.
Bruce and his family created "Team Todd" to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, raising over half a million dollars toward a cure. He also served as an LLS board member. Bruce's two favorite phrases were "Good Stuff" and "We are truly blessed".
We welcome friends and family to celebrate Bruce and the blessing of his life for a visitation in Fellowship Hall at Westminster Presbyterian Church (2040 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241) on Friday, June 7th, from 12-2pm and 6-8pm. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 8, at 10:30am in the Westminster sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Bruce and I served together as Elders at our church for several years. He was such a good man, a man of principle, always fair and considerate. I admired him greatly. Through chuch my family was privileged to get to know the rest of his family. Love and respect were the hallmarks of the family dynamic. His passing is a great loss, I know. Praying that God will comfort his lovely family with good memories and that the faith Bruce had will sustain them.

We moved into USC in 1980, and didn´t know a soul. We started our family, and our children grew up with the McClintocks. We met Bruce and Sue at school events, games, and dance recitals. They became our beacons in the community. We learned from their grace, energy, and integrity. Our whole family benefited from knowing them. Sue will carry on, no doubt, but we will miss Bruce´s smile, wit, and mentoring. The McClintock Family will be ii our prayers.

It is difficult to find anyone who knew Bruce, Sue and the extended McCkintock "clan" that were not enriched socially, professionally and especially spiritually by that fortuitous relationship.
We cherished his good natured smile, charm and calm at athletic fields, auditoriums and family gatherings, belying his responsibilities as the patriarch of eight children and twenty-one grand children as well as the architect of a very successful enterprise.
More personally, Bruce's character, selfless life, faith and courage, had no greater expression than that which his son Todd embodied in his battle with leukemia which took his life.
Although both losses leave voids in our lives, Bruce has left us a legacy of fortitude, providing a healing prescription.
Our lives have been blessed by his.

My husband and I remember Bruce as the mind, the math, the humor. We will not forget watching Bruce, Stan Soebel and my husband arguing over who should pay the check at dinner or lunch. It has been our honor and joy to know and have worked with Bruce. Our thoughts are with his amazing family at this time. Debbie Dunn/Jerry Geist
