Bruce John Meyer

Bruce J. Meyer, age 69, of Willmar, passed away Wednesday, January 7, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 12 noon - 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, at the Atwater Community Center.  Interment at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar will be at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Bruce John Meyer was born on May 1, 1956, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of John and Lois (Iverson) Meyer.  He grew up and received his education in Willmar.  At the age of 17, Bruce enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.  Following his service, Bruce worked at Jennie-O Foods in Willmar.  He later moved to Minneapolis and was employed in various fields of work.  In 2014, Bruce returned to Willmar.  He enjoyed fishing, biking, and being an avid sports fan of the MN Vikings.

He is survived by three siblings, Vicki (and Mike) Gatewood of Lake Lillian, Terry Meyer (and special friend, Paula Nelson) of Kandiyohi and Jason Meyer of Willmar; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois; and one sister, Tammy Meyer-Larson.
