Gary G. Meyer, age 60, made his exit from this life on January 20, 2026. He was born in Sheboygan and lived most of his life in Sheboygan.

He was a mostly happy guy who loved music, movies, and animals – especially kitties. He knew SO much about music, especially from the 1970s: Could quote lyrics, name band members, even knew the beginnings and endings of any band or music group.

He knew quotes from SO many movies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. He did stunningly PERFECT imitations of at least 10 cartoon characters. He was a very fun guy.

He played several roles in his lifetime, but the one he was best at, was that of a caregiver.

He took care of my parents for years: Fixing meals, making coffee, taking them to doctor appointments, picking dad up off the floor when he fell, putting mom's stockings on each morning, making her lunch every day, taking out the trash, killing the spiders, etc. Basically a live-in personal assistant.

My name is David Kirchstein. Gary was my best friend and housemate for nearly 30 years. He was without a doubt, the best friend anyone could ever have.

His best friend for 17 years, was a black kitty named “Cheechy”. He was devastated when Cheechy passed.

Unfortunately, untreated depression and alcoholism combined to end Gary's life early.

If you are struggling with these issues, I beg of you PLEASE seek help. There are resources out there. There are people who WILL listen. There IS help! It CAN be better. It's NOT too late!

For my dear friend Gary, it IS too late. I know this was not his intent, but please understand that when a person ends his life, nobody pays more dearly than those who loved him, and are left behind.

To sum up Gary's passing, my niece Chelsea Klein put it best:

“One act of intention with a permanent and devastating consequential outcome cannot ultimately override a lifetime of love and light and humor and happy. At least for those left topside.”

In past conversations with Gary, he strongly expressed his desire that there be NO service, no visitation, no burial when he passed. That is exactly how it will be.

Rest in Peace my Dear Friend. You are and shall be sorely missed.

Contributions to help defray final expenses are appreciated.
