Bruce Kenton Payne, 75, of Mill Creek, IN, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Northwest Health La Porte.
Bruce was born on September 14, 1950, in La Porte, IN, to Orville and Dorothy (Harris) Payne.
On December 2, 1972, in Hamlet, IN, he married Barbara Allen who survives. Also surviving are his 3 children, David (Molly) Payne of Valparaiso, Jennifer (Brian) Lambert of Mill Creek, and Joline Payne of La Porte; beloved grandchildren, Dustin (Alexis) Payne of Valparaiso, Brenden Payne of Valparaiso, Kirsten (Kyle) Rogers of Niles, MI, Hayden Lambert of Mill Creek, Owen Payne of Valparaiso, Adara Smith of La Porte, Mackenzi Lambert of Mill Creek, Elliott Payne of Valparaiso, MaKayla Lambert of Mill Creek, and Adalynne Smith of La Porte; great-grandson, Cashton Payne of Valparaiso; brother, Kyle (Cathy) Payne of South Bend; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bruce was an engineer for 38 years at Howmet. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and building intricate models. Bruce would often be found watching documentaries, reading, or sneaking sweet treats!
He proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, c/o IU Foundation, PO Box 7072, Indianapolis, IN 46207 with checks payable to IU Foundation.
