Bruce Allen Plasman died on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on April 22, 1946, Bruce was adopted by parents Benjamin F. Plasman and Elizabeth "Betty" (Van Ry) Plasman. Bruce grew up in Holland, Michigan, and was a resident for his entire life, in his family home on the north side of Holland.
Bruce will be remembered for his love of gardening and especially growing vegetables, which he was proud to provide for meals in his home. He even loved growing popcorn, which he faithfully gave to his church's youth group to enjoy. Bruce loved to read and took pages and pages of notes on many things, including recipes, gardening tips, etc. He was a collector of many items that delighted him. Bruce was a hard and diligent worker and worked for many years at the Heinz company in Holland. Bruce was a man of faith in God, baptized and confirmed at Third Reformed Church, where he was a lifelong member, following his parents and paternal grandparents before him.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his twin sister, Beth Mahr, who will miss him greatly as her most loyal support and daily companion. Bruce will be remembered fondly with a memorial service by his church family at Third Reformed Church on Friday, September 5, at 10:00am, and his ashes will be placed in the church's Memorial Garden. Condolence cards may be sent for his sister at Third Reformed Church, 111 W. 13th Street, Holland, MI.

Fond memories of Bruce growing up in Third Reformed church. We and Beth were always in church with our families. We grew up together and his family loved coming to our River Hills dr. home. Lots of memories of playing together. Hugs to his sister Beth. Always Judy Van Oosterhout Bakker.

Bruce was a long time member of TRC, and he had one of the kindest smiles. During the passing of the peace, he would make his way around the back of the church, even though it was difficult for him to walk, greeting people by name. He whistled along with most of the hymns, and he shared his warmth and light to all around him. He was a bright light in the world, and he will be missed.
