Lois Kay Capel

Lois Capel, 86, of Hamilton, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Lois was born July 6, 1939, on the family farm in Overisel Township, to Earl and Martha (Hulst) Hoeve. She graduated from Zeeland High School, and married Don Capel. Lois worked her entire career at the Hamilton Farm Bureau. Don and Lois were longtime members of Hamilton Christian Reformed Church. She is survived by her daughter Dawn (Capel) & Ray Simmons, her son Mike & Valerie (Ende) Capel, grandchildren: Laura (Simmons) & Colton Beck, Katie Simmons & Jeff Silcox, Riley Capel, Corey and Mattie (Klomparens) Capel; three great-grandchildren: Makala, Mackenzie, and Carson; and many extended family members. Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Don Capel in December 2024. A family graveside service will be held in East Saugatuck Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Stanley Scripps officiating.
