Bruce was awarded Muleshoe Man of the Year twice, in 1987 and in 2020. He enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball. He was proud to be a Muleshoe Mule and was one of his hometown's biggest fans.
Bruce loved to travel. He had visited Tanzania, South Africa, Argentina and Canada. He enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting with his sons and his friends. Bruce was devoted in his faith and to his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Muleshoe. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Cary Purdy.
