Bruce Scott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.D. Lee & Sons, Inc. Funeral Home on Feb. 17, 2026.
Bruce Scott, age 69, of Rogersville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026.

Bruce was born on September 20, 1956 in Kennett, Missouri, to James and JoNell Scott. He carried the values he learned from them throughout his life: hard work, loyalty, generosity, and quiet strength.

Bruce was married to the love of his life, Mildred "Jeanie" Scott. Together they built a life rooted in devotion, family, and steady love.

He spent much of his life lending a hand to anyone who needed it. Bruce had a gift for fixing things, especially anything with an engine. He loved vehicle mechanics, four-wheel drives, and the satisfaction of solving a problem with his hands. If something was broken, Bruce would figure it out. But more than what he could fix, Bruce will be remembered for how he made people feel. He was warm, strong, and steady. He gave the very best hugs. He never met a stranger and would quite literally give you the shirt off his back. He loved telling a good story - especially if it made people laugh - and he had a way of drawing others in with his easy presence. Above all, Bruce loved his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanie; his son, Warren Scott and his wife Nicole; and his cherished grandchildren, Maeve and Isaac, his brother, Jimmy Scott; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and JoNell Scott.

Bruce leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and generosity that will live on in the many lives he touched. While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace, and welcomed into the arms of his Savior. "Well done, good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:23)

Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2026, with a funeral service following 3:00 p.m., at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home in Rogersville.
