Bruce Watkins, age 71 of Hendersonville, passed away on February 1, 2026. Bruce was born on June 15, 1954 to the late Alvin and Jewell Watkins in Bonne Terre, Missouri

An individual of notable musical talent and passion, Bruce crafted a life characterized by his love for music that began at a tender age. He took his first steps into the world of music by playing the piano at just four years old, and over the years, he embraced various instruments. His dedication and skill led to a fulfilling career as a musician, leaving a mark on those who had the pleasure of hearing him play.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Bruce was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, where he engaged with his community and found fellowship among fellow church members. His faith and service were an integral part of his life, contributing to the warmth and kindness he extended to others.

Bruce also cherished moments spent in nature, particularly when fishing. It was a hobby that provided him with joy and peace, allowing him to connect with the beauty of the great outdoors.

In addition to his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Watkins. 

Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Watkins; his children, Brandon Watkins (Mary), Brad Watkins, Kelly Larrabee (Cody), and Karen Vinkler; his grandchildren, Holly Watkins, Brianna Watkins, Alyssa Watkins, Jeremy Eddy, Leila Charaf, and Dylan Watkins; and his siblings, Eddie Watkins, Kay Watkins, Janet Jenkins, and Steve Watkins. 

Bruce Watkins is remembered not only for his remarkable abilities but also for his unwavering spirit and the love he shared with those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of passion for music and a deep commitment to his faith and community, which will continue to resonate with all who knew him.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or ALS.org
