Bruce Williams, 67, of Bridgeton, NJ, passed away at his home after battling a lengthy illness. Bruce was born on June 12, 1957, to the late Indiana Staples Gillis and the late

David Edward Williams ,Jr. He is the maternal grandson of the late Winnie R.

Echols and the late Albert Atkinson. He is the paternal grandson of the late Amelia

and late David Williams, Sr. He was a widower to the late Vallorie Williams.

Bruce attended Newark Public Schools as a young child and resided with his late aunt

Irene Williams who played a major role in his upbringing. As a teenager, he

attended Bridgeton Public Schools. Bruce worked in Newark, NJ as a construction worker. He also worked at the Vineland Developmental Center in the laundry department in Vineland, NJ. Bruce was a self-made Uber driver for those who needed a ride. Bruce often worked with his friend doing carpentry work and roofing. Those who knew Bruce could always depend on

him saying his favorite phrase when telling a story, "Like um….um, ah you know

what I mean." He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Bruce leaves to cherish his memory; children, Tamika Woodard(FL),

Taray(Tanilia) Williams (NJ), Shamira Williams (NY); his lifelong companion,

Lonnice Fuller; grandchildren, Terrell Woodard & Eugene Watford, Jr. of

New Jersey, Samanii Sanders of New York; two great-grandchildren; his

sisters, Andrea Gillis, Rhonda (Jule) Harrison and Donna Williams of Bridgeton,

NJ; his brothers, David Gillis and Ronald Williams of Bridgeton, NJ; and a host of

nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his wife, parents and grandparents, he was predeceased by; his two brothers, Charles Louis (Turkey) and Tyrone Thomas Gillis; his sisters, Sandra and Marvella (Vimmie) Gillis; and his stepfather, Leo Allen, Sr.; his nephew,

Ventrelle Smith; and his niece, Infinity Milledge.

Funeral Services will be held at the Glory Tabernacle Church, 1018 Buckshutem Road, Bridgeton, NJ 08302 on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11AM. Friends will be received at the church from 10AM to 11AM prior to the service. Written condolences can be sent to the family through the funeral home website, www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
