Bruce Myron Wilson started his lifelong adventure as the snow fell on January 25, 1935, in Laconia, New Hampshire. Born to Earl Myron and Irene Laroche Wilson. He spent his young days outside exploring with his buddies, jumping off bridges onto boats, ice skating and swimming on Lake Winnipesaukee. He grew up with 2 sisters, Nancy and Louella. And at the age of 16, unbeknownst to his mother and with the help of his sister Nancy, he joined the Marines.
After serving in the Korean Conflict, he landed in Washington, D.C., where at first glance he met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Litten and in a whirlwind of a romance he married her 3 days later. Hence the family legacy began, starting with their first son Madison Lemuel who took his Dad and Mom on many vacation excursions and loved sharing his Dads famous chicken wings. Secondly his mini-me came along Betty Jane who formed a bond with her Dad while working in the meat industry, he always said, "she could wrap meat just as fast as he could cut it!" Along came Catherine Ann, who as a youngster loved taking pictures with her Dad in the photo booth at PG plaza. Next in line came Dawn Marie who remembers her Dad rescuing her from teenage trials by supporting and loving her unconditionally. The fifth child Jeffrey Allen loved curling up on his Dads lap and getting his picture taken in the photo booth, also as a teenager disassembling a Volkswagon Bug with his Dad and burying it in a concrete patio. After a 7 year pause Edwin Leroy, another mini-me came along, they bonded over their love of pigeons, chickens and pigs, building many a pen together. Then Egenia Daria came along who loved hearing her Dad sing: Roxanne, Roxanne my beautiful Roxanne, swelling her head from then until now. But their bond really grew when she and her parents started worshipping Jehovah together. Then the baby of the family was born, Christopher Lynn who remembers his Dad spontaneously jumping up at the beach and diving into the waves losing his keys and wallet. They searched together for 4 hours and miraculously found them both. Bruce loved and cherished his family deeply.
Bruce explored many avenues of work, such as a short order cook where he met his love, then as a demolition man until the other workers noticed him carrying around the explosives in his front pocket and threatened to quit. He painted military parts for the government until painting himself out of a job in 3 days. Then his mom, through a friend started him in the industry of meat cutting and he excelled as a meat cutter for over 50 years.
Outside of his profession he enjoyed renovating the family homes along with his beautiful wife Barbara Ann. He had a passion for gardening like no other, producing enormous vegetables from the most rocky soil. His hospitality and generosity were unmatched, being a friend to everyone.
Most importantly to Bruce was his spiritual journey. He became one of Jehovah's Witnesses on May 23, 1998, along with his wife and daughter Egenia. He loved people and teaching them about Jehovah God. (John 17:3) His favorite way to teach people was going door to door and later in life sitting on his front porch engaging with everyone who walked or drove by with a shout or wave. He absolutely loved Jehovah and served him whole souled.
Bruce lived a blessed life, loved and respected by his wife, eight children and their spouses, twenty-six grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and innumerable friends.
As Barbara says: " It's hard to say goodbye to 70 years....But only for a little while, we have a hope! The Bible promises : "There is going to be a resurrection." ( Acts 24:15)
As Bruce would always say... AMEN.
