Bruce Joseph Witt, 71, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away peacefully of natural causes at home on July 6, 2025. Born February 2, 1954, in Crawfordsville, IN, Bruce was the beloved son of the late Carl and Alice Witt.
Bruce married the love of his life, Kathy Jo Witt, and together this past May they celebrated 49 years of marriage. Bruce was a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Brooke Witt, and his late son, Derrick Witt. He was also extremely proud of his grandson, Nivek Witt. Bruce will be missed by his brothers, Gary (Renee) Witt and Mark (Annette) Witt; nieces, nephews and extended family. He was also predeceased by his brother, Keith Witt.
Bruce lived a life marked by kindness, humor, and a deep appreciation for simple joys. He loved fishing, whether in Canada, North Carolina, or at a local pond. It was his favorite way to spend his days. Bruce was also a talented guitar player and singer, spending years playing in bands, building friendships that lasted a lifetime.
He was known for his generous heart and his ability to make anyone laugh, bringing warmth and light to those around him. Bruce's presence will be greatly missed, and his memory will continue to bring comfort and smiles to all who knew and loved him.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 4:00pm. Cremation was chosen with Sanders Funeral Care entrusted with care. In Bruce's memory, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
