Mary Marcia Morris (Marcia), 84, of New Market went home to be with her Lord Monday morning, February 9, 2026. Marcia was at home with her loving family when the Lord called her home.
Marcia was born December 21, 1941, in Crawfordsville to the late Edith E. (Wilson) and Merle A. "Bus" Miller, Jr.
Marcia graduated from Crawfordsville High School, class of 1960, and married the love of her life, the late Sherman M. Morris, on August 15, 1959, spending 59 wonderful years together. Marcia, while helping to run the family farm business with Sherman, started as a cook with the New Market school system and progressed to managing all aspects of the cafeteria, loving all the children in her care over her 39-year career. Marcia was a faithful member of the New Market Christian Church. Marcia also loved walks on the beach with Sherman in Hilton Head and spending time with friends and family. Marcia was a simple, loving, gentle soul and will be greatly missed, yet fondly remembered.
Along with her parents and loving husband Sherman, Marcia was preceded in death by her son, Max Eugene Morris; her grandson, Dustin Morris; great- granddaughter, Kassie Morris; and siblings, James "Jim" Miller, Aleeta "Pete" Miller, Merletta "Sue" Johnson and Reggie Johnson, brother in-law.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Moll (husband, Bill); grandchildren Christina Kernodle (husband, Matt), Travis Hutchison (wife, Tiffany); great-grandchildren, Camron Kernodle (wife, Jenna), Ashley Kernodle, Aiden and Alex Hutchison; great-great-granddaughter, Amelia; and great-great grandson, Adler Kernodle.
