Brunilda A. Reyes, 75, of Ocala, FL, passed away on September 21st in Ocala, FL.
Brunilda was born in the Dominican Republic, the daughter of Miguel Angel Reyes and Anna Mercedez Valerio, on November 2nd, 1948. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 19 and worked incredibly hard to eventually become a self-employed proprietor, owning her own grocery stores in New York while raising her four children.
Known and loved by many as Tila or Bruni, Brunilda was a kind, loving, generous, and spirited soul who touched the lives of many. A devoted Catholic, she was an active member of her church. Above all, she was a devoted mother who, with great sacrifice and boundless love, cared deeply for her family. Her dedication to her children was unwavering.
Brunilda is survived by her two sons, Luis F. Fernandez of Center Hill, FL, and Julio A. Fernandez of Ocala, FL; her two daughters, Claribel Corona of St. Augustine, FL, and Amy Corona Castro of Orlando, FL; as well as her 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 443 Marion Oaks Drive, Ocala, FL. The viewing will be from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass. Burial will take place at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, 5050 SW 20th Street, Ocala, FL 34474, at noon.
Mami, you have been called home, welcomed into the arms of your mother, father, siblings, and loved ones who passed before you. Now, you are in the presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We will miss you dearly, but we promise you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again in your loving embrace, we love you.
