It is with great sadness that the family of Bryan Alexander Penn announces his passing on
the 19th of September 2024 at the age of 40. Bryan was born in Ypsilanti, MI and grew up in
Commerce, MI with his parents, sisters, chickens, dogs and parrot. He graduated from St.
Mary's of Orchard Lake in 2002 and attended the University of Michigan.
In the words of Bryan's father, "Bryan was the most kind, considerate, and thoughtful
person." He was an exceptional guitar player and held a great appreciation for music - it
moved and comforted him. When he played his favorite Michael Hedge's song on the guitar,
it sounded just like the original. He held a great passion for cooking, and some of Bryan's
most favorite times revolved around cooking meals for family and friends. Outside of the
kitchen, his favorite place was the golf course with his buddies.
Bryan was a wonderful, protective, sensitive, intuitive and loving person and all of those
who knew him will forever love and miss him dearly. He is survived by: Randy Penn (father),
Marcia Penn (mother), Molly Penn Stefanisin (big sister), Meghan Penn (little sister), and
Corinne Shorr (niece); his aunts and uncles, Barbara Appleby, David Bailey, Alice Bailey, Greg
Penn and Karen Penn; his cousins, Jennifer Dimmer, Josh Beebe, Sara Gelsanliter, Anne
Bailey, Bob Bailey, Shannon Geary, Ashley Kish and Jessica Penn; and his pets, Betty, Ginny
and Ricoh.
Bryan is now with his grandparents Robert & Audrey Bailey and Lehman & Elynor Penn, his
uncle Chris Appleby and his dogs Duffy, Bailey and Murphy.
We are celebrating Bryan's life on his 41st birthday, November 3rd.
Please join us between 11am – 3pm.

Bryan's celebration is casual... we encourage wearing your favorite shirt that represents a
music group or artist, sports team, Star Wars, LOTR, or anything else you love. Bryan would
like that.
