On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, Bryan Carl Sperry Sr, 80, passed away in High Springs, FL after a fourteen-year battle with cancer. Bryan was born June 24, 1943 in Utica, NY. After graduating high school, he began an impressive career as a plastics engineer that spanned over 30+ years at General Electric. His work took him and his family to various locations up and down the East Coast including Utica NY, Virginia Beach, Gainesville (Florida), Detroit, and Nashville. Later on, he transitioned into a consultant role before retiring in 2010. Bryan was a hardworking man, but after traveling all over the world for his job, he enjoyed the quieter life that High Springs had to offer. You could find him tending to his land, riding his tractor, and taking care of his cows.
By his side throughout it all was his devoted wife of 59 years, Bernadette Sperry. They met as teenagers and their love story continued to blossom over the years. They were married on March 2, 1965 in Utica, New York, and built an incredible life together. Bryan was a family man who always enjoyed an opportunity to spend time with his loved ones. Bryan was the son of the late Carl & Margaret Sperry. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Bryan Sperry Jr., Alachua, FL; Renee (Robbie) Pedrick, High Springs, FL; and Todd (Marli) Sperry, Marietta, GA, grandchildren, Michael (Haley) Melton, High Springs, FL; Heather (fiancée, Daniel Samurin) Pedrick, Flagler Beach, FL; Braden Sperry, Marietta, GA; and Alexa Sperry, Marietta, GA, and great-grandchild, Reagan Melton, High Springs, FL. He was also anxiously awaiting the arrival of his second great-granddaughter who is due in two weeks.
Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Sperry family.
