Beloved father, son, brother, husband, and entrepreneur Bryan Edward Terry passed away at his home in Belton at the age of 62 on Sunday, January 11th. Bryan was born to Bill Edward Terry and Eleanor (Pat) Fern (Miller) Terry, and was a loving brother to his sister, Cynthia L. Klaczek, and his brother, Mark William Terry.

Bryan's passion for working with his hands showed early in life. After putting himself through Sullivan, he started his own HVAC business – Action Heating and Cooling – in 1986, building it from the ground up with grit, ingenuity, and an unwavering commitment to integrity. There was little mechanically that Bryan could not fix, and he often solved problems with his natural creative understanding of mechanical aspects. He later invented a freon recovering system for air conditioners that was ultimately patented by a larger company, testament to his talent as an independent inventor.

In 1985, Bryan met the love of his life, Laura Ann Cox, and proudly escorted her to her senior prom. On June 9, 1990, they were married. Together they built a full and joyful life and raised three successful children: their eldest, Harrison Edward Lee Terry (1995) and twins Seth Alan Lee Terry and Jessica Faye Ellen Terry (1997).

Bryan worked tirelessly to provide for his family. As his HVAC business grew, he eagerly took on other endeavors – purchasing rental properties, mastering the art of remodeling, and learning the responsibilities of being a landlord. He and his brother, and their wives, became partners in Mr Tires off Winner Road in Kansas City. Through it all, he passed on his knowledge, teaching HVAC mechanics and electrical skills to Harrison, Seth, and his nephew Josh. Bryan's work ethic, passion, and innovative creativity shaped not only his business, but the young men he mentored.

Outside of work, Bryan found joy in anything that moved fast and made a loud noise. He loved flying planes with his dad and his friend Dennis, and he delighted in tinkering with, racing and winning many trophies on three-wheelers, four-wheelers, ATVs, motorcycles, and especially his orange and black Dodge Challenger. He adored teaching his kids to swim "like fish", proudly telling them he could hold his breath underwater for three minutes.

Bryan's sense of humor was unforgettable – goofy, playful, and often self-deprecating. He spun outrageous stories for his children, nieces and nephews, insisting he was a back-up pilot for NASA, or a race-car driver exempt from all rules. His humor lifted spirits, his clever mind solved problems, and his love for his family was constant.

Bryan was a devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, and father. His sudden passing leaves a deep ache in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
