BRYAN SANFORD VERNIMB went to be with God and some of his best friends on August 14, 2025. Bryan was born April 9, 1932, in North Bergen, NJ. He moved to several other cities in NJ including Ridgefield, Hoboken, Ridgefield Park, Englewood, and Glen Rock before settling in Howell in 1973.

He was employed by the Lowe Paper Company for many years as a machine operator. He also worked for Village Liquors, Shoprite Liquors, and owned his own business, Vernimb's Nursery, until retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army; he served as a high-speed radio operator in the Signal Corps during the Korean War in the 1950s. Bryan is predeceased by his mother, Doris and father, Henry Vernimb and his sisters, Claire Milne and Beatrice Colligan. He is survived by his brothers, Michael Vernimb (Scottsdale, AZ) and Benjamin Bergman (Mayne Island, Canada) and nieces, Mirelle Rose (Arizona) and Leslie Latour (California).

Bryan was introduced to his best friends, Kathleen and Thomas Artale, by Kathy's brother, Bob Boehmer, in 1978. He spent the remainder of his life surrounded by the love of the entire Artale family. He played an integral role in the lives of his goddaughter, Dotti (Artale) Salinas, her husband, Edgar and their two daughters, Ellie and Livie. Although not related by blood, he was considered their family. He will be missed and loved by them forever.

His interests included collecting and repairing clocks and watches and wrote many articles for the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. He loved fishing, bowling, genealogy, photography, Atlantic City, and especially being outside in nature. He was incredibly intelligent and was well-versed in the sciences. Bryan enjoyed every minute of his life. He lived without fear, with great strength, and was an inspiration to many people.

Bryan was a great friend to all that knew him. He was selfless, kind, and always helped everyone in need. He loved everyone he knew, and he was deeply loved in return.

Thank you for everything, Bryan. Goodnight, God bless you, and pleasant dreams, sweet Bryan. From your best and forever friend, Kathy.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial visitation from 2-4 PM with Military Honors at 3:30 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the GEORGE S.
