It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bryon Chris Barber, known to all as Chris Barber, on April 24, 2024, at the age of 71.
Born on June 8, 1952, to Verle and Barbara Barber, Chris grew up in Syracuse. He married Rita Vigil in 1971, and later married Kris Arnold.
Chris was a kind and gentle soul who always put others before himself. He had a great sense of humor and a contagious smile that could light up any room. With a passion for life, he lived it to the fullest, making the most of every moment.
As a cement finisher, Chris worked for 33 years at Kevin Della Silva Concrete. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle, always putting his loved ones first. He had a special bond with his nieces and nephews, who adored him dearly.
Chris is survived by his son, Christopher Barber and his wife, Valerie Barber (Ogden, Utah); stepdaughter, Spring Chavez-Thompson (Las Vegas, Nevada); sisters, Vonnie (Tom) Henk (Eugene, Oregon) and Barbara Barber (Clearfield, Utah); brother, Kevin (Wendy) Barber (Scenic, Arizona); five grandchildren: Carson, Ben, Sam Barber, Justice, and Isaiah Thompson; and his companion dog, Festus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Verle Barber and Barbara Barber Steele; brothers, Tommy and Farrell Barber; and his wives, Rita Barber and Kris Barber.
We take comfort in knowing that Chris is now at peace, reunited with his loved ones who passed before him. May he rest in eternal peace.
