Buddy L. Waite, 94, of Burlington, Kentucky, died Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Rosedale Green Health and Rehabilitation, Latonia, Kentucky.
Buddy was born on August 26, 1931, in Covington, Kentucky to the late Robert and Hannah (Graham) Waite. He was a retired Insurance Agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Following retirement, Buddy was the Assistant Supervisor for the Kenton County Parks and Recreation Department.
He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was a longtime member, and Past President, of the Ludlow Vets. Buddy was also a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Ludlow.
Buddy was a Ludlow City Councilman for two terms and a past Ludlow City Mayor for two terms. He was a member of the Ludlow High School Hall of Fame, the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame, and was a 2020 Inductee into the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine (Hite) Waite in 2011; and a brother, Robert Waite in 2019.
Survivors include his daughter, Nancy (Dale) Gilbert; sons, Dave (Cathy) Waite and Ty Waite; his companion, Kay Finn; stepdaughters, Joy (Bill) Herbstreit and Cheryl Kiefer; stepson, Steve (Geneva) Modlin; brother, Dale Waite; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Visitation is 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron, Kentucky. Funeral services to follow at 1:00 pm. Entombment, with Military Honors, to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Erlanger, Kentucky.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ludlow Vets, 830 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.
