Burna J. Hodges

Burna Jean Hodges, age 81 of Sunol, NE passed away at Sidney Regional Medical Center on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Per the family's request, no funeral will be held, but only a private family graveside service in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may stop by the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 1:00-6:00 P.M to leave condolence for the family.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials can be made to the Sunol Community Center and the Chappell Animal Rescue or sent to Crystal Howe (2423 Deaver Drive, Sidney, NE 69162).

Burna Jean Hodges was born on July 10, 1943, in Glendive, MT to Jacob and Marie Deines.
She attended Sunol High School where she met her best friend and love of her life Clinton, they were married for 58 wonderful years. She worked at White Collar Laundry in Sidney and dedicated many years to the Sunol Community Center.
After her children were born, she was a dedicated, loving, mother and wife. Burna enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. It would always bring a smile to her face when her kids and grandkids would get together and play games and tell stories. They were her everything.
She had a love for animals, especially her dog Rodey. She always made sure he was well taken care of and she always would have extra snacks for the neighbor dog Alli.
Burna is survived by her husband Clinton "Mort", children Clinton of Sidney, daughter Crystal (Bill) Howe, grandchildren Ashley, Amber, Travis, Connor (Jazlyn), Willy (Emily), Tyson, and great granddaughter Ruby.
Burna is proceeded in death by her parents Jacob and Marie, brother Gary, sisters Jackie, Phyllis, and Patricia.
