WAYNER, Burnette C. - Beloved husband of the late Doris (Nee Lamb) and former husband to Lois who remained a close friend for life. Loving son to the late William Wayner and Lora "Maude" Folts. Devoted father of Bill (Kathy) Wayner, Steve Wayner and two step children Rhonda (Rusty) Radcliffe and Randy (Amy) Yost; Dear grandfather of Sonya, Patrick and Robert and 5 step grandchildren; Great grandfather of William, Christopher, Dylan, Anthony, Zoe, Silas, Owen, Elliott and7 step great grandchildren; Great great grandfather to 2 children. Brother of LeRoy (Loraine) Wayner; Uncle to Randy (Tricia) Wayner and the late Richard Wayner. Passed away on Friday June 21, 2024 at the age of 96;
Burnette enlisted at the age of 17, and was WWII Navy veteran who served in the South Pacific. After returning home, he completed his high school education and continued his education at a radio and television technical school. He then went to work for WCPO where he continued for 43 years. He was a member of Somerset Masonic Lodge in New York.
Burnie was known for his devotion to his family, to his church, to all things sailing and nautical, and his evening wine.
Visitation will be held at the Neidhard Young Funeral Home 7401 Hamilton Ave. Mt. Healthy on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 noon. Burial will take place at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
