Burney Dean Nimmo Jr. (76) passed away on May 25, 2025, in Springfield MO. Burney was born to Burney Dean Nimmo Sr, and Dorothy Louise Pruett on April 28, 1949, in Springfield MO. He was raised in Springfield MO and graduated from Hillcrest High School. Burney was united in marriage to Kimberly Nimmo on April 13, 1979.
Burney worked as a welder at A-1 Manufacturing for 25 years before retiring in 2011. In retirement, he found great joy in riding his Harley Davidson alongside his sons and close friends, often taking long, scenic motorcycle rides. He also took great pride in keeping his garage, motorcycle and cars in immaculate condition – few could match the level of care and cleanliness he maintained. But more than anything, his greatest joy came from being "Papa" to his three beloved grandchildren. He treasured every moment with them, never missing a school event, sports game or dance recital, and his face lit up every time he spoke of them. Burney's pride in his children and grandchildren was immeasurable, and nothing brought him more happiness than being a part of their lives.
Burney was preceded in death by his parents Burney and Dorothy Nimmo. He is survived by his loving wife Kimberly; two sons, Heath Nimmo and wife Kari, and Nicholas Nimmo; one daughter, Lindsey O'Connor and husband TJ; three grandchildren, Vanessa Nimmo, Mallory O'Connor and Cayson O'Connor; one brother, Gary Nimmo; and one sister, Brenda Hightower and husband Kevin.
A graveside service will be held on June 2, 2025, at 1:00, at Greenlawn Memorial Garden Springfield MO.
