Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Lake View Gardens Cemetery in Okoboji, IA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Online condolences may be left at www.spiritlakefuneralhome.com
Burrill was born on May 27, 1931, to Burrill M. and Virginia Louise (Birdsong) Getman, Sr. in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Moses Brown High School and attended Haverford College and earned his MBA from the University of Michigan. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Sweeting on January 18, 1958, in Red Bank, NJ. He was self-employed in Finance in Business Administration and was also a CFP as a Business Consultant.
In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and was a member of various golf clubs. He donated much of his free time to the Camp Board YMCA Board of Directors, Kiwanis, Okoboji Foundation, Okoboji Summer Theater Association and was a member of the Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Elizabeth Getman of Naples, FL; children George Getman of West Palm Beach, FL; Brian Getman of San Antonio, TX; and Linda Getman of Spirit Lake, IA; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Morgan, and Benjamin; two great grandchildren Conor and Becket.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
