Burton Edward Jones, Jr. Burton Edward Jones, Jr., age 74, passed away on August 30, 2010 at Prince William Hospital while surrounded by his loving family.

Though born on April 16, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pa., Eddie had been a resident of the Manassas area since he was 10 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Anna Beatty Jones, and one sister, Eleanor E. Bowers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dorothy Abel Jones, and their four children, Ed DeRousse, Butch Jones and his fianc‚ Carla Robertson, Laine McNeal and her husband John, and Cindy Duvall and her husband Bill, all of the Manassas area; six grand-children, Scott Duvall, Kimberly Jones, Jackson McNeal, Kevin Jones, Natalie McNeal, and Adam Robertson; four siblings, Robert Jones and his wife Billie Jo of Sequim, Wash., William Edwards and his wife Vivian of Ashford, Wash., Marie Martin and her husband Jack of Shelby, Ala., and MaryAnn Montesano of Memphis, Tenn. He is also survived by many extended family members including one sister-in-law, Millie Simpson, and one brother-in-law, Robert Bowers.

Eddie attended Manassas Baptist Church and was a long time member of the Centreville Moose Lodge #2168. He loved to fish and was a lifelong fan of many sports, he especially enjoyed watching the Redskins and Nationals play ball.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 7th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center at 10001 Nokesville Rd, Manassas, Va. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 8th at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dr. William T. Higgins, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may take form of a donation to the Coles District Volunteer Fire Department, 13712 Dumfries Road, Manassas, VA 20112 or St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
