BW McFerrin entered into the presence of the Lord on January 2, 2026, at the age of 90 in Denton, Texas. BW was born on September 20, 1935 in Waco, Texas.

A proud graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, BW earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting. After obtaining his CPA certificate, he embarked on a notable career, beginning with a tenure with a major certified public accounting firm, serving as Vice-President and Controller for Selber Brothers Department Stores, followed by the position of CFO for Highland Medical Center, all based in Shreveport, Louisiana.

In addition to his career, BW proudly served as an officer in the United States Navy, an experience that shaped much of his character and values.

Outside of his professional life, BW was an avid golfer. He was a former member of both East Ridge Country Club in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Heritage Ranch Golf and Country Club in Fairview, Texas. Golfing was not merely a pastime for BW; it was an outlet for enjoyment and camaraderie with friends. After retiring, BW and Nancy enjoyed traveling, experiencing national parks, countries, historical sites, nature and visits with family.

BW is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, and their children: Susan Nielsen (Paul), John McFerrin (Diane), John Greer (Sheila), and Charles Greer (Kelli). He also leaves behind seven grandchildren Blake Nielsen (Becca), Lillian McFerrin, Jacob McFerrin, Jody Henderson (Will), John Greer III (Veronica), Delaney Greer, Olivia Greer and one great-grandchild.

BW was preceded in death by his parents, Lena Mae McFerrin and Harlie David McFerrin, as well as his siblings: Robert McFerrin, Harlie McFerrin, Jeannette Click, and Louise Turner.

A family graveside service will be held at a later date in Waco, Tx.
