Byron & I have been friends for over 14 years. It's difficult to speak of him in past tense, as that re-breaks my heart. Reality is, Our Almighty Sovereign God knew that it was his time. I don't know why but, I will miss my friend,"Whit". He was wise but, silly. Creative and so much fun. His smile could change my mood when I walked in the door. He was a very good friend and would lift me up in scripture when I couldn't see past my pain. He always looked at the positive of every single moment. Byron will be greatly missed. He was more than a neighbor, he was more than a friend, he was a big part of our chosen family, and that just says everything about the kind of person he was. Little Bella and I will miss him more than words can say. She said he meant everything to her. His laugh, his silly comments, and just seeing him outside and my daughter running to hug him.. to know him was to love him, and how lucky we are to have had him in our lives praying for our sweet neighbor Ophelia (our Grannie), Clarence, his children, grandchildren and all of the family, and all of the other ones that felt like his family too
