C. Herman McLendon

C. Herman McLendon, 89 years old, of Ponchatoula, LA died on Friday, February 11, 2022 at his residence. He was born in New Orleans, LA on August 26, 1932. Herman's joy and strength came from his love of family. He was a dedicated father and loving grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carlene Drude McLendon, and survived by his children: Gail Bothwell (Joe), Denise Ekdahl (Jim), Sharon Rawls (Ben), Sandra Johnson (Brad), and Tim McLendon; his grandchildren: Ben Rawls (Bella), Matt Rawls, Jenna Rittenhouse (Ben), Ian Johnson, Katie Gore (Matt), Julian Bothwell, and Clairanne Johnson; and his great-grandchildren: Emily Rawls, Charles Rawls, and Maxine Gore. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Edith S. James McLendon, and survived by his step-children: Vivian James Anders, Cheryl James, Betty Joy James Boshears (Mark), Keever James (Elizabeth), Michael James, Sr. (Colleen); numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Also preceded in death by his parents William Frank McLendon and Henrietta Robinson McLendon, brother William F. McLendon, Jr., sisters, Flora Nelson, Jane Core, and nephew William F. McLendon, III. He is survived by his brother-in-laws David Drude, Jake Drude (Mary Ellen), sister-in-law Ruby Drude Lee, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 8:30 am until 9:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Friday at 10:00 am.
