"Be careful, keep calm, and don't be afraid," a recurring reminder from Pastor C. Edward ("Eddie") Lee in recent years, seems more appropriate than ever after his homegoing to heaven on Saturday, February 05, 2022 in El Paso, Texas. He was 79. Afraid we are not; he has run the race and now rejoices with his Lord and friend Christ Jesus, whom he met with every morning through prayer and the Word, and followed faithfully all his life.
Eddie was born on July 27th, 1942 in Roswell, NM to Robert Edward Lee II and Flora Elsie Lee (Blanscet), who instilled faith fundamentals and other lessons like how to work hard, and the ins and outs of car mechanics (a vintage car often stood in wait for him to tinker on, most recently his 1940 Ford). After high school, Eddie proudly served his country in the National Guard. He was a loving brother to four sisters, two older, Ella Storms and Thelma Lee Ayers (whose funeral he performed last year), and two younger, Elaine Wallen and Shay Patterson.
Eddie was devoted to his beautiful darlin' and most faithful prayer partner, Linda Ruth Lee, whom he cherished in marriage for almost 60 years. Together they lived full of integrity, grit, and the Holy Spirit. A proud, fiercely affectionate father and grandfather, his living legacy includes four children, Lucinda Lorayn Melton, Susan Lorenda Houston (Monty), Jeena Renee Lee, and Robert Edward Lee III (Katherine); six grandchildren, Ladaea Rylander (Adam), Robert Melton (Hannah), Grayson Houston (Ariel), Haley Houston, Elaine and Olivia Lee; and three great-grandchildren, Ella and Florence Rylander, and Soren Melton. He is also survived by many extended family members who remember him warmly.
A well-studied ordained pastor, Eddie shepherded and discipled for over 50 years of ministry with the Assemblies of God in New Mexico and Oklahoma, and finally for 30 years in El Paso, TX as the founding pastor of Harvest Christian Center, God's vision that Eddie fulfilled with joy since 1992. He loved his city and his church, and his absence from El Paso is felt by many. He was singularly motivated, in life and ministry, to spread the life-giving Good News of Jesus to his family, to El Paso and the border region, and to the world. Not the type to slow down, he was looking forward to continuing that call in other avenues after retirement; instead, we pick up his baton and run.
To donate in Pastor Eddie Lee's honor, please give to the Harvest Christian Center REACH fund via hccelpaso.com. All monies received go directly to reaching the lost around the world for Christ.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 3:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00pm at Harvest Christian Center, 1345 New Harvest Place, El Paso, TX.
On Friday, February 18, 2022 his family will hold a private burial service in Roswell, NM. Services are entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West, 480 N. Resler Dr.

Pastor Lee

Since I was 16 Pastor Lee has been a prominent figure in my life. He was there as a teenager when my attention span was seconds but something must have stuck because I´m here.

During my college years I´d call him and he´d help me research and write my papers for my humanities class. He never seemed bothered or too busy to help me.
Although, I wasn´t married locally when I told him he was happy for me and wished me nothing but the best.

He was there when I dedicated my girls and every time I saw him he´d tell me how much he loved me and my family and it was real.

He didn´t just influence lives he influenced hearts to change for Jesus.

Although, I struggle to say goodbye to his earthly presence I know he´s doing a little jig with the Lord and showing him those amazing push ups he´d do on stage. I hope heaven is everything he imagined and more and I hope the ingress and regress he always wanted is there too.

When it´s my time I know he will be there waiting for me so that we can rejoice together.

You waved the Lords banner high until the end Pastor Lee.

Death be not proud, the jokes on you he´s alive and well.

I love you for always Pastor Lee.

So sorry for your loss. Remember him as the DCAP ( I think that´s what he was) in the early70´s. He made a difference in a lot of lives. May God give you peace and comfort during this time

Our Dearest Pastor Lee,

What beautiful memories we have. We were young bucks in these photos. We spent the most crucial years of the beginning of our adulthood listening and learning from you, looking up to you, loving you, and praying we didn't disappoint you- and if we did, we still knew that you GENUINELY LOVED us. EVERYTHING that we have that is most precious to us is because you helped show us how to get there; our marriage, our children, and most of all our special relationship that CONTINUES to grow in Jesus (even when we were/are stubborn in our ways). You taught us how to get through the hard times and you were there when we felt like we couldn't. We know you are a worker bee and you hit the ground running in Heaven! How blessed are we for knowing you and for knowing you loved us? Hugs and kisses to our baby girl, Joy, and to Melissa (who we know is overjoyed to see you again). We always wanted to tell you we were sorry for leaving so quickly after our wedding ceremony! It was a Sunday! And we made a promise to not delay the church service...The things we think of during these times. All that we really remember is your love, nevertheless. And we promise to keep your memory alive and just "get it together" and "stop wasting time". We love you, Pastor. -Cueto Family
