It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Caden Michael Speck, who left this world on December 24, 2025, at the tender age of 18. Caden was born on July 31, 2007, in
Lawrenceville, Georgia, and he spent his life bringing joy to those around him until his courageous battle against Diffuse Leptomeningeal Glioneuronal Tumors with Anaplastic Features took him from us.
Caden's life was marked by his passion for sports, especially baseball, which he played with a fervor that was infectious. He was a natural athlete, excelling in any sport he chose to pursue, but it was baseball that captured his heart. His love for the game was evident, and he inspired many with his dedication and enthusiasm. Caden was not just a gifted athlete; he was also the best big brother anyone could ask for. His love for his siblings, Nixxon, Hayes, and Lila Kate, knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Caden was known for his radiant smile that could light up any room. Those who knew him often remarked on his inspiring spirit and bravery throughout his illness. He faced challenges that would have overwhelmed many, yet he continued to uplift others with his positivity. Caden's strength and determination were beacons of hope for his family and friends, and he will be remembered as an inspiration to many.
He is survived by his devoted parents, Amanda Reynolds and Christopher Speck, who provided him with unwavering love and support throughout his life and illness. Caden leaves behind his beloved siblings, Nixxon, Hayes, and Lila Kate, and his cherished grandparents, Mike and Jan Reynolds and Sandi Speck. He also leaves a loving extended family that includes many aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him dearly.
Caden was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lee Speck, and great-grandparents Eugene and Earlene Reynolds, and Everett and Lila Evans. Their absence will be deeply felt, but Caden's spirit will forever connect them.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated oncology team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Southern Grace Hospice, and Cox Funeral Home for their compassionate care. A special thank you to all who supported Caden during his journey, including those who contributed to his care.
A funeral service to celebrate Caden's life will be held on December 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Christ Chapel. We welcome all who were touched by Caden's life to join us in honoring his memory. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 5 until 7 PM at Cox Funeral Home - Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Children's Hospital of Atlanta, the Ronald McDonald House, or any local recreation department of your choice, to continue Caden's legacy of love and support for children and families in need.
Caden Michael Speck will be greatly missed but never forgotten. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and were blessed to have known him.
