Caesar Augustus Ortiz

Caesar Augustus "Ace" "Pops" Ortiz, age 88, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Teresa Diaz and David Fonseca Ortiz. Caesar lived a life grounded in faith, service, and devotion to family.

Caesar grew up in South Philadelphia and continued his education at Camden County College before earning his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Pacific Western University. He proudly served in the United States Air Force in 1957, demonstrating the values of honor, responsibility, and dedication that would define his life.

Caesar first married and shared many years raising a family. Later in life, he was blessed to find love again with Anna Ortiz, with whom he shared a cherished marriage. Together they built a warm and supportive home, living first in Blackwood, New Jersey, and later in Stallings, North Carolina.

He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, always leading by example with his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to those he loved.

Caesar was a man of simple joys and deep interests. He delighted in puzzles, gardening, and listening to music, especially the soulful voice of Etta James. He found peace in tending to his yard and caring for his beloved chickens and rabbits. But above all, Caesar's greatest joy was his family. He was known for his caring heart, gentle humor, and the way he made everyone feel loved and valued.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Ortiz; and by his children Lorraine Conklin, Lisa Ortiz, Kathleen Fonseca-Cyr, Ronald Ortiz, Robert Ortiz, and Michael Ortiz. He is also lovingly remembered by his 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, who will forever carry his stories, lessons, and love in their hearts.

Caesar will be remembered as a caring, honorable, and family-oriented man - a pillar of strength, love, and warmth. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the traditions he passed down, and the family that continues to grow in his light.
