Caleb Holtan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cease Family Funeral Home - Park Rapids on Dec. 14, 2024.
The passing of Caleb Stewart Holtan on December 9th, 2024, at the age of 30, has left an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His journey, though tragically cut short, was filled with a vibrant spirit, unwavering dedication, and a deep love for family and friends.
Born on August 14th, 1994, in Menahga, to Bret and Karen Holtan, Caleb's upbringing on the family dairy farm instilled in him a strong work ethic that he carried throughout his life. This dedication was evident in his successful career in over-the-road construction, a field he approached with the same passion and commitment he applied to his partnership with his father in raising their Red Angus cattle.
Beyond his professional achievements, Caleb cherished the simple pleasures: the thrill of duck hunting, the quiet solitude of ice fishing, and the camaraderie of shared experiences with his close friends. He possessed a rare kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand, and his infectious laughter and quick wit brightened every room he entered. His genuine nature and unwavering loyalty earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. The phrase "Caleb had true grit, a man of his word. Amen"perfectly encapsulates the essence of his character – a testament to his integrity and unwavering honesty.
Caleb leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his son, Brenson Stewart Holtan; Brenson's mother and Caleb's longtime girlfriend of eight years, Kylee Wright, the love of his life; his parents, Bret and Karen (Hensel) Holtan; and a wide network of aunts, uncles, cousins, and devoted friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Martin and Irene Hensel of Park Rapids, and Melroy and Ardith Holtan of Menahga; and his uncle, Bruce Holtan, and aunt, Julie Holtan-Condiff.
Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal.
Love leaves memories that no one can steal.
Service will be at the Cease Funeral Home in Park Rapids, December 19th from 5-7 pm.
Caleb's final resting place will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Toad Lake, Minnesota.
