In Loving Memory of Caleb Michael Parsons - A Bright Light
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Caleb Michael Parsons; a beloved sixteen-year-old young man who was a son, brother, grandson and dear friend to many.
Born on June 27, 2007, in Jacksonville, Florida, Caleb Michael Parsons brought everlasting light to the lives of his family, friends, and anyone who had the privilege of crossing his path. He was a remarkable soul, well-known for his boundless intelligence, goofy sense of humor, and rebellious spirit. He approached life with pure curiosity, eager to experience all this world had to offer.
Being the youngest of his siblings, and undoubtedly the smartest, Caleb quickly adopted the role of "the family doctor." With a keen mind that absorbed knowledge like a sponge, and a growing passion for regenerative medicine, Caleb aspired to become a doctor someday, and he took it upon himself to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge.
He applied his knowledge with empathy, whether assisting his father and sister with pain they were unable to manage for years, or doctoring the family pets. He also applied his knowledge with motivation, actively encouraging his friends to take charge of their physical health, often using sayings like "go to failure" and "keep going" throughout gym sessions.
But it wasn't just his intellect that endeared him to those around him; his infectious smile had the power to lift the spirits of an entire room, and his quick wit and mischievous grin turned the most mundane moments into a delightful adventure.
Caleb Michael Parsons leaves behind a legacy that will forever echo in the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his loving parents, Michael Coleman Parsons and Tara Dykes Parsons, siblings Coleman Parsons (Hannah), Joshua Nichols, and Mikayla Parsons, grandparents David Dykes, Dennis Frank and Teggy Frank, and a multitude of friends who were fortunate enough to share his journey. The loss of such a radiant and young soul leaves a void that cannot be filled.
As we gather to memorialize Caleb and mourn his passing, let us remember the way he brought light to our lives, challenged our thinking, and inspired us to savor every fleeting moment with the same fervor and curiosity that defined his all-too-brief existence.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "It is not length of life, but depth of life." Caleb's life, although cut short, was a testament to the profound depth that can be achieved in a mere sixteen years. He will forever remain in our hearts as a bright light that continues to shine, guiding us through the darkness with memories of his laughter and unwavering spirit.
Caleb's Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 17th, 2023 beginning at 11:00am at Crosswater Hall 245 Nocatee Center Way
Ponte Vedra, FL 32081.
The family is requesting that friends and family share how Caleb made a positive impact on their lives.
