Loreen Phyllis (Slaughenhaupt) Parsons, December 5, 1938-February 13, 2026, 87 years old.
Loreen Phyllis (Slaughenhaupt) Parsons passed away on February 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She is cherished by her husband of almost 66 years, George Parsons, from
Great Bend, PA., and her four children, Tammy (Tom), Michelle (Conrad), Carl (Roxanne), and Steven (Jennifer); along with her grandchildren, Ben (Michelle), Melissa, Emily, TJ, Hillary, Jackson, Tiffany (Jason), Jessica (Alex), Alexis (Nico), Addison (Miranda), and Harrison (Lauren); and great-grandchildren, Brayden, Casey, Isaiah, Vivian, Tessa, CJ, Hailey, Aria, and Lunara.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rev. George and Iona Slaughenhaupt; and predeceased by eight siblings, Don, Russell, James, Shirley, Pat, Mary, Judy, and Nancy. Lori leaves behind her siblings, John, Ed, Linda, and Cindy.
She attended Cedarville College in Ohio, and possessed many talents, working in various skilled jobs. She loved to bowl, square dance at the local firehall, and she could really Polka, even with her walker in her hands. For many years, she was a local Avon lady and worked at Reddons drug store for many years, but her greatest joy was being a loving mom and grandmother. She was kind, funny, adventurous, and the kind of mom who would play in the snow, dress up for Halloween, and play jokes to keep everyone on their toes. She loved picking fruit and making a famously amazing apple pie, which her grandchildren always requested when they returned home.
Mom's house was truly a home, a haven for anyone who entered. Though she was shy and sometimes quiet, she had a large presence and was adored by many. She always supported her family in everything they did and was proud of all their achievements.
Even though she was small, she was mighty. She could take down and repaint a wall, move furniture, and rearrange everything before her husband got home from work.
She was the organizer for family reunions, a selfless woman who would make sure everyone was having a good time and a full belly.
Her smile, her love, her warm embrace will be forever missed, her beauty shines through us all as she leaves us with memories that will never fade.
You are in God's hands now and having a wonderful reunion in heaven.
At her request, there will be no public services. The family hosted services privately. Spring interment will be made in Floral Park Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc. Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Gigi's Playhouse, 223 Reynolds Road, Suite 55,
Johnson City, NY 13790. In recognition of Lori's love for her dear sister, Nancy.
