William Bunch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Feb. 17, 2026.
William J. "Jack" Bunch, 83, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at UF Health St. Johns.

Jack was born in Tampa and later moved to Waycross as a teenager. He graduated in 1961 from Waycross High School. In 1963, he met and married the love of his life, Patsy, beginning a devoted partnership that would span more than six decades.

Jack dedicated much of his professional life to Sears Authorized Dealer Services, where he served as a manager for many years. In 1991, he and Patsy proudly purchased the Sears store, owning and operating it side by side for many years. A tireless worker, Jack was deeply committed to providing for his family. His strong work ethic, integrity, and leadership earned him the respect of colleagues, customers, and the entire community. Everyone knew Jack, and he never met a stranger.

Family was the center of Jack's life. He was a devoted husband and a proud provider, always putting those he loved first. Outside of work, Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman. Each summer, he cherished time spent at the family camp in Ft. McCoy in the Ocala National Forest-his home away from home. Those days in the woods and on the water brought him great joy and created countless lasting memories.

Known for his outgoing personality and quick sense of humor, Jack loved to joke and was often the life of the party. His warmth, laughter, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Jack's legacy of hard work, love for family, and dedication to his community will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Bunch; children, Chris Bunch and Jana Waler; grandchildren, Lana, Heidi, Jacqueline and Jacob Waler and sister, Jeanette Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Sadie Elizabet Bunch.
