Susan,
Working with you since 1992 was truly one of the greatest privileges of my career. You were an awesome, caring, and incredibly intelligent nurse who shaped not only the operating room, but all of us who had the honor of working beside you.
You were like a mother hen to us younger nurses - always guiding, teaching, protecting, and making sure we grew into the best versions of ourselves. You were the true patriarch of our operating room family, the steady presence that held us together no matter how busy or stressful the day became.
You kept Eric and me in line more times than I can count, and looking back, I´m so grateful for every one of those moments. Your strength, wisdom, and sense of responsibility made you someone we all leaned on.
Most of all, you were a fierce patient advocate. Your compassion and commitment made a difference in countless lives, and your legacy will live on through every nurse you mentored and every patient you cared for.
You will be deeply missed, Susan - but never forgotten.
With love and gratitude,
Bernie

I started out very young as a surgical tech on the Flagler west side. I was young and full of a lot of energy. Susan was a fantastic nurse with lots of spunk and knowledge. She was straight and to the point but I loved her. She was my kind of person and she taught me so much as a new employee. It´s hard to find good nurses like her anymore. She will forever have a spot in my heart. Rest in peace and quit gossiping with Gay Gay!! Condolences to the family and just know no one could ever compare to her!! Amy Wilson
