Callie Ann Fennell

Callie Ann Fennell, 82, of Cottonwood, Alabama, passed away August 31, 2025, at the Graceville Health Center in Graceville, Florida. She was born June 4, 1943, in Shelby County, Alabama to the late Lee Russell Garrett and Rhoda McDonnell. Her life was marked by her servant's heart. She was known for her cooking skills that were recognized by four grand-prize awards for her peanut recipes at the National Peanut Festival. Her recipes were also featured on the Food Network and in Southern Living magazine. She loved her pets and spending time in her garden. As a longtime member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, she served faithfully, teaching the five-year-old Sunday School class. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hayward Fennell and her daughter, Debra Baxley. She is survived by three sisters, Peggy Benton, Eleanor Thompson (Johnny), Rhonda Burgess; One brother, Harvey Garrett; one son-in-law Todd J. Baxley; several nieces nephews and extended family members. A graveside service will be 4:00 P.M., Friday, September 19, 2025, at Harpers Joy Assembly of God Church Cemetery, 1509 Harper's Joy Road, Dothan, Alabama 36301, with Bro. William Webb officiating and James & Lipford Funeral Home directing.
