Robert Lane Fennell, fondly known as Lane, passed away on August 23, 2025. A visitation honoring Lane will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 1:00-2:00pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Lane graduated from Hamilton County High School in 1990 and spent most of his life in Jasper, Florida, where he formed lasting memories and friendships. A dedicated truck driver since 1997, Lane’s career was marked by his commitment to safety, earning him several awards that reflected his professionalism and care for those on the road. He had a deep appreciation for country music and enjoyed watching westerns on television. Living by the motto "be kind," Lane endeared himself to many with his warm heart and generous spirit.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Fennell, and his stepson, Holden Brant. Lane's family also includes his beloved fur baby, Baby-boy Copper, who brought joy to his life. He is further survived by his sister, Gail Carter (Brian), and his brother, Clay Fennell (Terri), along with his nephews, Marcus Carter (Heather) and Richard Fennell; nieces, Megan Carter, Michelle Fennell, Sheale Stites, and great nieces who loved him dearly. Lane is also remembered by his brother-in-law, David Brant (Missy), his sister-in-law, Dana Templeton (Tony), and his mother-in-law, Diane Brant.
Lane was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Susie Fennell, as well as his brother, Stacey Fennell.
Robert Lane Fennell will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, love for family, and commitment to his profession will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s's Children's Research Hospital. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Fennell family.
