Calvin Beveridge Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Feb. 2, 2026.
Calvin Eugene Beveridge, Sr., 96, passed away January 28, 2026. Calvin was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Ival and Carrie Kline Beveridge. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife, Velma L. Beveridge.

Calvin grew up in Des Moines, Iowa where he met his wife of 62 years Velma. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in 1947 serving his country working on B47 aircraft engines in England. He was very proud of his unit who supported the Berlin airlift from June 1948 to September 1949. American, British, and allied forces flew over 277,000 missions to deliver over two million tons of supplies to West Berlin after the Soviet Union blocked all land and water access on June 24, 1948. Calvin worked for Pittsburgh Des Moines steel as a welding foreman for the majority of his working years until his retirement in 1995. Calvin and Velma moved to Lake of the Ozarks where he became an avid fisherman. They spent many years with family and friends at the lake fishing, boating, swimming and just enjoying each other's company. Calvin was also known for his inability to pass up a bargain or a YARD/GARAGE sale sign.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister Judy Waltz; his loving children, daughter Betty Beck, son-in-law Don, son Calvin E. Beveridge, Jr., daughter-in-law Roberta, son John Beveridge; grandchildren, Sandi Bennett, her husband Jeremy, Calvin (Trey) Eugene Beveridge, III, his wife Catherine, Michael Beck, his wife Mary, Crystal Varley, her husband Sean, John Beveridge; and eight great grand kids; and three great great grandkids. Additionally, are his extended family members at the lake, Chuck and Sue and Stan and Bev, and dear friends and neighbors here in Chesapeake who will forever hold his memory close.

There are currently no plans for services at this time.
