Mr. Calvin Dickerson, age 75 passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born on January 31, 1949 in Clio, Alabama to the union of Lonnie Dickerson, Sr. and Tiny Brock. He was a long time native of Fort Myers, Florida until he relocated to Glennville. He was the 10th child of 13 children. Mr. Calvin was an outgoing person and his favorite saying was “Throw it to rabbit one more time.” He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Dickerson and his parents.
Those left to cherish his memories are his devoted nephew and niece, Otto and Sheila Lewis; daughter, Calvina Dickerson; brothers, Noah Dickerson and Curtis Dickerson; sisters, Dorothy Peasey, Betty Davis, Patricia Davis (Benjamin), Annie Maybin and Mary Nash (Sam); aunts, Religion Grice (Wash), Jewel Rice and Kulve Duncan (James); two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home with Pastor Otto Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Greater Zachariah Baptist Church Cemetery.
