Fortune-Keough Funeral HomeIt is with great sadness that Calvin W. Goff has passed away at the Adirondack Medical Center the age of 70. He was surrounded by his three daughters who filled his life with joy and profound happiness.
Calvin, at the age of 17 began his career at Grand Union Supermarkets starting as a checker / stocker and working up the ranks to becoming a manager in later years. He retired in 2002 as a result of a car accident .
As a young man, Calvin set goals and was an achiever. He owned his first home by the age of 21, bought his first Harley Davidson and had a profound love for his Willy’s Jeep!
Calvin was an avid outdoorsman as a young man. He loved to hunt (gun & bow) with his cousin Alan Oliver and his best friend Glen Swinyer. Many weekends were spent at hunting camp where countless memories were made.
Then Calvin was to begin the next phase of his life! At the age of 26 he met and married the love of his life Sharon M. LaHart. Together they raised three daughters, Shannon, Noel and Ashley.
Calvin was an All American patriotic man. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was always out and about riding around enjoying every moment. His children branded him the name “Moose” because he was a roamer! No one knew where he was venturing to! When he wasn’t on his motorcycle he was driving his red Chevy pickup which brought him great pleasure as well. Calvin loved to camp and sit by camp fires with his family in Port Kent and loved being out on the boat fishing and watching his grand kids frolic in the water! He always loved being included in a day or evening of fun!
In recent years, Calvin and Roy Warner spent time canvasing the woods (hunting) where they eventually spotted and brought Bucky home!
Calvin leaves behind his three beautiful girls, Shannon E. McEwen (Jeordi McEwen) , Noel Goff LaBrake (Jake LaBrake) and Ashley Meddaugh (Brian Meddaugh). He also was poppy to Hannah Grace Reid, Greggor McEwen, Christian , Sophia, Emily, and Carson Meddaugh and Walker and Jackson LaBrake. Calvin’s grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He assisted in providing care for Jackson and Walker and Hannah Grace which created an extra special bond…. Lots of stories and tons of laughs!
Additionally, Calvin is survived by his mother, Ardeth Goff, sister Melody Goff (Roy Warner), brothers, Kevin ( Lucy Goff) , and Timothy (Sue Goff) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Thomas Goff (Bud).
