Calvin Curtis Googe, 64, of Brunswick, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, at his residence, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer..
Funeral services will be held from the gravesite at Chapel Park Cemetery, Tuesday, February 4, 2025, 11:00am, with Jo Jo Whorton, Billy Joe Embery, Ellis Sikes, Clarke Wiggins, Allen Stewart and Wesley Googe serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Morris, Wayne Kellogg, and Michael, Kristy, Susan, Sandra, and Brandy, Calvin's nurses with Hospice of the Golden Isles.
Calvin was born September 29, 1960, in Jesup, GA to Donald Wesley Googe and Melba Jean Beverly Googe. He had lived in Brunswick most of his life, attending Brunswick High School. Calvin was the former owner of P & G Stucco & Tabby, and later went to work for Erwin Tabby. He enjoyed doing lawn care, and could often be seen riding his golf cart, not just in his neighborhood, but all over town. Calvin was a loyal Parker's Convenience Store customer, and loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved his dogs, Cocoa and Wobbles, and his cat, Earl.
Calvin is survived by his sister, Sarah Jean Noel (Jimmie), brothers, Johnny Googe (Geneva), and Jeff Emory (Kacey), all of Brunswick. Other relatives include, his nephews and a niece, Wynn Gale, Darrell Gale (Irene), Wesley Googe (Maggie), and Nora Sanders (Ricky), a great niece, Lela Saunders, great nephews, Cash Googe and Hunter Googe, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calvin was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wesley Googe, and his parents, Melba and Donald Anderson.
