Calvin Larson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buswell Funeral Home on Dec. 31, 2025.
Calvin Lynn "Bimbo" Larson, age 72, of Black River Falls, WI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
He was born on May 25, 1953 in Black River Falls, WI to Chester and Frances (Tande) Larson.
Bimbo was known for his quick wit and sarcastic remarks. He spent much of his life behind the wheel, driving semi trucks, he could always tell you the best route and detailed directions to get almost anywhere. Bimbo's personality was as big as his heart, and he was cherished by those who knew him.
He always looked forward to his annual camping trips. You knew not to ask what time it was, because his answer was always "camping time." Bimbo enjoyed spending time with family and friends and could usually be found having a drink, telling stories, and bragging about his children and grandchildren. He was known as Bumpa by his grandchildren, and they were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife, Jann of Black River Falls; children, Crystal (Chad) Kassera of Sparta, Carmen (George) Larson of Sparta, and Calista (Chris) Mathison of Bangor; stepchildren, Travis (Kristin) Hutchens of La Cresent, MN and Tracy Dundin of Hatfield; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Sherry (Orv) Semke; sister in-law, Pat Dorwin; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandy Tabert; brothers, Ronnie and Dennis Dorwin; and nephews, Lyle Tabert and Mike Semke.
A private graveside service will be held in the spring at Sullivan Cemetery in Brockway Township, WI. Torgerson Funeral Home, Black River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family would like to thank Tomah Health Palliative Care and Hospice for their compassionate care and support during these last few months.
