Calvin Jay Shipp, 94, of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on February 3, 2026. He was the son of the late Charlie Calvin Shipp and Bertha Mae Chambers Shipp.

A proud graduate of Rossville High School, Class of 1950. Jay went on to proudly serve our country in the US Navy in Japan during the Korean War. Relocating to the Rossville area, Jay worked for Gerber until retirement. After retirement, he moved to Center, AL where he lived on Lake Weiss and enjoyed fishing, boating and golf. On his return to the north Georgia area, he enjoyed the fellowship of his classic car club and the Optimist Club. He was also in several bowling leagues.

Travel was one of Jay's greatest joys. He visited 49 states and loved the national parks.

He was a member of Mission Ridge Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his late parents and his brother, Thomas Deforest Shipp.

Those left to cherish his memories are his sister, Brenda Gail Accornero (Lou) and his nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Morning Pointe Assisted Living and Tapestry Hospice for their dedication and support.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Friday, February 6, 2026, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating. Interment will follow at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park with his beloved nephews serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00-8:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
