Camdon Loschen Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 21, 2025.
Camdon Loschen, 25, of Brooklyn, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Though his time here was far too short, Camdon filled every moment with laughter, creativity, and love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00 PM, Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Hartwick Community Center, 204 Main Street, Hartwick, IA 52232. In honor of Cam's unwavering loyalty to his favorite team, those attending are invited to wear red for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Memorials may be designated to his family. Cards and memorials may be mailed in care of Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, PO Box 342, Brooklyn, IA 52211. Condolences may also be shared online at www.smithfh.com.
Camdon was born on September 12, 2000, in Bangkok, Thailand, and in 2009, he was lovingly welcomed as a son by his parents Rick and Kris and siblings as a part of the family. From the moment he joined the family, Camdon brought light, laughter, and endless curiosity into their lives. He grew up in Brooklyn, Iowa, and graduated with the BGM High School Class of 2019.
Cam was known for his big smile, kind heart, and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. A natural connector, he could make friends in an instant and always left people feeling a little lighter than before. His sense of humor, quick wit, and mischievous grin made him unforgettable.
Professionally, Cam brought his energy and creativity to every job he held - from US Cellular in Grinnell, to Karl Chevrolet in Ankeny, and most recently at Riddel Jewelry in Coralville. He was a gifted communicator with an eye for detail, an artist at heart, and a talented digital creator whose imagination knew no limits.
Cam loved life's simple joys - cooking up his favorite ramen noodles with eggs, cheering on the Cornhuskers every fall, or spending time with family and friends who meant the world to him.
Those who will forever cherish his memory include his parents, Rick and Kris Loschen of Brooklyn; his siblings, Sarissa Riedel of Terre Haute, Indiana, and her children, Lilly and Ruby; Scott (Emily) Riedel of Hartwick and their children, Cael, Ava, and Lexi; Christian Loschen and Hunter Loschen, both of Brooklyn; his Grandparents Connie and Donnie McGinnis of Lincoln Nebraska, several aunts and uncles as well as his many "exchange siblings" from around the world - Buraya Hemsathapat (Thailand), Sabina Kubiyeva (Kazakhstan), Beni Bagala (Italy), Thalita Pavan (Brazil), Frederikke Høj Johansen (Denmark), Nannapas Sitthimongkol (Thailand), Haris Fasih Nasir (Pakistan), and Daniel Bauer (Germany) - who became lifelong family.
Camdon was preceded in death by his nieces Lainey and Ivy Riedel, his nephew Luke Riedel, his Aunt Connie Brown, and his maternal grandparents, Gene and Theresa Klein.
Cam's life was one filled with laughter, creativity, and heart. Though his story ended far too soon, the love he gave and the joy he spread will remain forever - in every memory shared, every smile sparked, and every bit of light he left behind
