Cameron Wilkerson Obituary

In Loving Memory of Cameron Thomas Wilkerson 07/05/2000 - 11/27/2025
Cameron "Cam" Thomas Wilkerson was born 7/5/2000 son of Richard "Cody" Wilkerson and Cynthia Ann Wilkerson at Northeast Baptist Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. He went to his forever home, with our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ, on November 27, 2025.
He is survived by his father Cody, sister Evynn Prichard (her Fiance Sean Kurburski), brother Duncan Wilkerson (his wife Madison, their daughters Josie and Mabel), Grandmother "Grammy" Cathy Wilkerson, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins.Nieces and Nephews. He is preceded by the loss of his beloved Mother Cynthia Ann Wilkerson, Grandparents Faye & J.H. Wilkerson, Eva & Rafeal de Leo'n, Uncles Alex, and Michael de Leo'n.
At a young age Cameron loved to dress up. He demanded to wear a 3 piece suit for the first day at school at Redland Elementary just down the street from the house. He was already getting into trouble. One day he took a pocket knife to school in his lunch box. When the principal asked him why he brought it he said his mom must have put it in there so he could cut his sandwich.
Cameron loved to go to church camp with his mom each summer at Camp Gilmont in Gilmer, Texas. He especially loved to spend his free time fishing. He looked forward to camp all year, and time with friends from around our Presbytery.
He attended Stone Oak Presbyterian church as a youth and loved to go to Christian concerts with his family and the youth group. He was full of Jesus and would dance like King David. He did not care who saw him, much to the embarrassment of those who were there with him. We should all dance like Cameron and King David to please God and not our fellow man.
He played in the band at Douglas MacArthur High school and played the Trumpet. He loved to dance with the band, and act goofy in the stands. I am not sure how much of the game they actually watched. One year he had to dress up as Batman for the halloween football game and he would not accept his mom buying a cheap batman suit. It had to be from an adult costume shop. After the game he took photos with all the little kids. One little boy was going through Chemo and Cameron rented the suit again and went to visit him in the hospital. That is just how Cameron was.
Cameron, like most all of us, struggled from time to time during his teenage years. He was far from perfect and had a knack for not telling the truth. The devil finds a way to find our weaknesses and exploit them, but Cameron knew the Lord and came back home to Him. Cameron was Cameron. He liked to go sing Karaoke, one of his favorites was "I did it my way" by Frank Sinatra that was part of his character too.
He enjoyed his time with the Boy Scout Troop 145 where he achieved the rank of Star Scout, and went to Philmont High Adventure Scout camp with his father. That trip he overcame adversity and learned about how to push through difficult situations and perceiver. It was about 100 miles of hiking in 10 days, carrying a 40 pound pack. The trek is entirely on foot carrying your food, clothing and shelter.
Cameron loved cars. He especially loved his F150 his grandfather de Leo'n gave him, his old cougar and his 2 mustangs. He enjoyed going to car shows and working on cars with his friends. He could be difficult at times but would give the shirt off his back to help a friend. He would never give up on a friend, and if they had a falling out, they would get back together later because he did not hold grudges.
At the time of his passing he was a security guard at SRT Security. He was proud of his profession and the kind of people he worked with, he was working to get to level 3. Cameron was a dreamer and always came up with new ideas on how to make money, many of which were impractical, but he would never give up on his dreams.
Cam loved all animals and especially adored all his pets. You must love them a lot to have 7 cats. He loved to go hunting and hanging out at the lease, with the family. His Facebook photo said "Figuring things out, looking for God's guidance.
This past summer he rescued 2 little girls from a car accident, where they lost their mother, and was recognized as a hero by a local tv station. This happened just 3 days after the 5th year anniversary of the loss of Cameron's mother. Both girls were injured and he went to visit them in the hospital.
As you can see from Cameron's story, he LOVED a lot. He loved his family, friends, his God and his Lord Jesus Christ. To quote him "If you see something going on, don't just drive by, step up and help". He is Allyah's and Skylah's guardian angel. I am sure he will be watching over them until they meet him again in heaven. It is Cameron's prayer that he will be reunited with "YOU" one day in heaven. May God bless you and your family with this celebration of Cameron's life. If Cameron's life story made an impact on you, we encourage you to say this simple prayer.
Father God, I am a sinner, please forgive me for my sins. I lay them at the feet of Jesus, the lamb of God who gave his life for our sins. I dedicate my life to getting to know you, thank you for washing away my sins and making me white as snow. Amen.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 12, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. At Stone Oak Presbyterian Church. Funeral Services will be held Saturday December 13, 2025 10:00 am at Stone Oak Presbyterian Church an Burial will be held on Monday 10:00 December 15, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Park.
