Camila Salas, age 18, of San Benito, Texas, was called to be with the Lord on August 9, 2025.
Born on August 11, 2006 in Harlingen Texas to Mr. Juan Luis Salas and MaryJane Rodriguez, Camila lived a life filled with love, compassion, and a joyous anticipation of motherhood.Her warm spirit and infectious laugh touched the lives of all who knew her.
Camila was a graduate of the class of 2025 at Triumph Public high school. She earned a certificate in phlebotomy.
Camila was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her new baby. The loss leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family and friends. Although her time to enter into eternal life has quickly come, her love and memory will forever be cherished.
Camila is survived by her spouse Jose Hinojosa; parents, Juan Salas and Mary Jane Rivas; grandmothers: Camila Salas and Consuelo Rivas; her siblings: Roxanne Salas, Jenny Salas, Juan Salas Jr, Frank Rivas, William (Christina) Rivas, Nathan (Kandice) Rivas, Angie Rivas, Jasmine Rivas, Hannah Rivas,; political parents: Israel Hinojosa & Martha Medina and many cousins, aunts and uncles. Her memory will be cherished by her friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 351 S. Bowie St., San Benito, TX. with interment to follow at San Benito City Cemetery.
